Who goes to desert to spend time at a lagoon?

As crazy as it might sound, you should know that in recent years, a magnificent and inviting lagoon has been shaped right in the heart of the desert near the city of Yazd in Iran.

The new manmade wetland is a product of the wastewater treatment plant of the city.

The lagoon has become home to migratory birds that seek shelter to wash away the fatigue of flying long distances and at the same time the place has changed into an optimum place for bird-watchers. 

When the weather is fine, off-roaders would also come here to enjoy the altered nature of the desert.
